Kumera AS has signed an acquisition agreement with Helseth Invest AS. The agreement will integrate CP propeller manufacturer Helseth AS into Kumera AS marine gearbox operations. Kumera AS is a subsidiary of the international gearbox manufacturer Kumera Corporation.

On June 1st, Kumera Norgear had the pleasure of inviting important Kumera agents to our factory in Sandefjord, Norway. The day was filled with informative presentations, interesting discussions and a guided tour of the factory, in order to update our agents on the business and developments of Kumera Norgear.

One of many initiatives for securing the highest quality for Kumera Norgear customers is our Non-conformance System. The system is for registering non-conformances and suggestions for improvement in order to find root cause and define actions to prevent future re-occurrence of non-conformances. With this tool, our customers can be sure that we do our utmost to deliver high quality products, operate in safe working conditions, and limit our impact on the environment.
Kumera Norgear will participate at the Electric & Hybrid Marine World Expo in Amsterdam, 23-25 June 2015, located at exhibition stand nr. 2120. Sales and Marketing Manager at Kumera Norgear, Mente Baak, is one of the presenters at this years’ event. His presentation will look at how traditional mechanical solutions can be used in the pursuit of reduced emissions.

This year, Kumera Norgear celebrates 50 years in the industry. Kumera Norgear was recently certified as an ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Standard compliant organization. Kumera Norgear continues its focus on quality and customer service – investing in both personell and new quality systems, to further improve the service we offer customers.
Over the last 15 years, Kumera has delivered around 20 gearboxes to the Transnet National Ports Authority in South Africa. Their recent historical order of nine new Voith Water Tractors (VWT) has resulted in a new large order for Kumera Norgear through our customer CounterFire/Stang.
Kumera recently delivered its first Norgear advanced Multi-Step Hybrid Gear for a newbuild Anchor Handling Tug (AHT). The sophisticated new AHT is designed with a green focus and will harness the latest fuel-saving solutions to minimise environmental impact and optimise operations. Read more about the delivery here.
Earlier this year, Kumera conducted a global satisfaction survey. The objective of the survey was to establish how the market views Kumera as a vendor, brand and company.
